Why and when did Manitoba join confederation?

Manitoba joined confederation on May 12, 1870 because so that they had the back up of the Federal Government with the money.

Manitoba joined confederation in 1870 because they had the backup of the federal government. The ferderal government gave them money so that they could live and support themselves.

Manitoba joined confederation on May 12, 1870. Manitoba had developed enough and could use the support of the federal system to attract settlers to the region.
